Giannis Sina Ougko Antetokounmpo, also known by the nickname ‘The Greek Freak’, was born on December 6, 1994 under the sign of Sagittarius in Athens, Greece. There he was raised near Sepolia by his father, Charles, a former association football player, and his mother, Veronica, who competed as a high jumper. His parents are immigrants from Niger. Giannis Antetokounmpo started playing basketball at the age of 14. Two years later, he joined the Filathlitikos youth squad and started playing for them competitively.
