Dorothy Hamill’s parents, Carol and Chalmers Hamill welcomed her into the world in Chicago, Illinois. Her father was a mechanical engineer in his previous life. After her birth, she moved with her family to Greenwich, Connecticut’s Riverside area. She grew up there. Sandy, a brother, and Marcia, a sister, are Dorothy’s two older siblings.
