If you’re a movie buff, you’ve probably heard of the prominent young actor Jesse Eisenberg. Did you know he has a younger sister who starred in several Pepsi commercials in the late ’90s? How much do you really know about Hallie Eisenberg?

Early life and education

Hallie Kate Eisenberg was born on August 2, 1992 in East Brunswick, New Jersey, USA, to Barry and Amy Eisenberg in a secular Jewish family.

Her father ran a local hospital before becoming a college professor, and her mother was a professional clown, performing at children’s birthday parties for over 20 years. Eisenberg has two older siblings, brother Jesse Eisenberg and sister Kerry Eisenberg. She takes her name from the character of Thora Birch from the movie “All I Want for Christmas”, Hallie O’Fallon.

Eisenberg attended a local high school and enrolled at American University in Washington, D.C. after her matriculation exam, but took a break from her studies to pursue an acting career.

Pepsi girl

Eisenberg’s first notable TV appearance was in a series of commercials for the famed carbonated soft drink brand Pepsi, becoming the face of Pepsi when she was just seven years old – in fact, she was known as “The Pepsi Girl” throughout her career. She appeared on TV from the late 1990s to the early 2000s.

Career

Eisenberg made her acting debut in 1998, when she was only six years old, cast as Marie Alweather in the family comedy “Paulie”. That same year, she portrayed the daughter of Jamie Lee Curtis and Alan Bates’ characters in the TV movie ‘Nicholas Gift’.

Haillie kept busy in 1999, making a small appearance in David Anspaugh’s TV movie “Swing Vote” alongside Andy Garcia, then starring in “A Little Inside”, playing Abby Mills, and appearing alongside Russell Crowe, Al Pacino, and Christopher Plummer in the biographical film “The Insider”, finally teamed up with Robin Williams in the sci-fi comedy film “Bicentennial Man”. In 2000, Haillie appeared in an episode of the TV series “Get Real”, starring alongside Joey Laren Adams and Minnie Driver, and went on to play Helen Keller, the American writer who became the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts . degree, in the episode “The Miracle Worker” episode of “The Wonderful World of Disney” series. In 2002, she appeared in the Roundabout Theatre’s production of “The Women”, written by Clare Boothe Luce.

Eisenberg appeared regularly in TV and movies in the following years, playing Grace Rothman in an episode of the TV series “Presidio Med”, co-starring with Jeff Daniels and Patricia Heaton in the comedy TV movie “The Goodbye Girl”, and seen are in “Jesus, Mary, and Joey”, the comedy-romantic movie directed by James Quattrochi.

In 2006, she co-starred in the comedy family film about the lives of typical high school kids, “How to Eat Fried Worms”, an adaptation of Thomas Rockwell’s book of the same name – together they won the Young Artist Award in the Best Young category Ensemble in 2007 for her contribution to this film.

In 2008, she made a small appearance in “Heaven’s Messenger”, the drama movie about a doctor trying to find out who his nameless multi-personality patient really is. The same year, she made a cameo appearance in “Wild Child”, portraying Ruthie.

Eisenberg’s last feature film appearance was in 2010, when she appeared alongside her brother Jesse in the biographical film “Holy Rollers”, which showed the life of a young man from an Orthodox Jewish family who became an ecstasy dealer.

Private life

Eisenberg’s older brother, Jessie, is a famous Hollywood actor. He is best known for portraying Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in David Fincher’s 2010 biographical film “The Social Network”. He has starred in many popular, high-grossing films, such as “Now You See Me” and its sequel “Now You See Me 2”, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “To Rome with Love”. Unlike her older brother, Eisenberg retired from acting in 2010 so she could complete her college education and focus on other business goals.

Since she stopped acting when she was still a teenager, not much is known about Eisenberg’s private life. She is rarely seen in public and her brother rarely talks about her to respect her privacy.

Eisenberg is active on several social media platforms, such as Twitter and Instagram. On the latter, she has almost 9,000 followers and on her Instagram profile she regularly posts pictures of herself and her family; of several photosit can be noted that she is in a relationship with a man named Jon Carrado, and that she owns an adopted dog named Albus.

Eisenberg is an animal rights activist and is often seen advertising various animal shelters on her Instagram profile.

She was also part of the Women’s March held in Nashville, Tennessee, USA in January 2017.
