Early life and education
Heather was raised in Buffalo as an only child, by her mother, who was a nurse at a private clinic, and her father, who was a real estate agent.
She became interested in the weather at a very young age and became amazed at how it changes, as well as being curious about the causes of rain, snow, and even hurricanes and earthquakes.

Heather then enrolled in a local high school, where she was interested in practicing posing in front of a camera, which was mainly why she was a member of the school’s drama club, and appeared in many plays performed there. After entrance examination in 1985, she enrolled at the University of Minnesota where she graduated in 1989 with a degree in broadcast journalism, after which Heather enrolled at Plymouth State University, earning her master’s degree in meteorology in 1991.
Career as a meteorologist
Heather began her career five years after completing her master’s degree, working as an on-camera meteorologist for the network WCCO-TV and staying with them until late 1998 when she was offered a job at TWC. She had to move to Atlanta, Georgia to work for TWC, as an on-camera meteorologist (one of many who worked for TWC). Heather first appeared on TWC in January 1999, and while primarily responsible for live broadcasts, she also produced and appeared in animal welfare and cat stories.
She stayed with TWC for almost 14 yearswhen they let her go in 2012 after the company was sold to three companies that decided to cut the workforce.
In January 2016, Heather joined the network WXIA-TV as their freelance meteorologist and remained with them for the next four years before retiring in December 2019.
In November 2016, Heather released her book “HairDoodle by Heather Tesch: A Calming and Brain-Building Adult Doodle and Coloring Book” which has received ten 5-star reviews on Amazon.
Since early 2017, Heather has been working as a part-time meteorologist at The Weather Company, an IBM Business (formerly TWC). When released, the company was owned by NBCUniversal, Bain Capital and the Blackstone Group, and the three companies sold the already renamed The Weather Company to IBM on Jan. cable network. March 2018 when it was sold to Entertainment Studios.

Love life and husband
Heather is one of those people who prefer to keep their personal matters to themselves, and has not shared any details about her love life, but she is known to be a married woman, and it is believed that she met her other half while attending Plymouth State University, and that they got married sometime in the 2000s. heather is the mother of their two childrenbut has kept their names and her husband’s from the media, to give them a chance to live a normal and private life.
She hasn’t talked about any men she may have dated before meeting her husband, but she was once said to have been in a long-term relationship with her high school sweetheart, and rumor has it that the two were also engaged before they decided to call it all off to unknown reasons.
As of November 2020, Heather is married with two children.
Hobbies and other interests
Heather’s main hobby is volunteering at a local animal shelter and urging people to adopt animals instead of buying them.
She has spoken live on air on several occasions about her love of animals, as well as advising people on animal safety and adopting pets. One time when a tornado hit Ringgold in Georgia, Heather found and nursed several kittens, one of these kittens still lives with her, and she has four other cats and a lizard.
She currently works as a columnist for the Orange County Post and writes about life, pets and the weather. Heather also enjoys helping people and has participated in several charity events.
In her spare time, she likes to watch movies, and her favorite actors and actresses are Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet, while some of her favorite movies are ‘Titanic’, the franchise ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘The Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind”.

Heather is 53 years old. She has long blond hair and blue eyes, is 1.57 m tall and weighs about 50 kg.
