Who is Shauna Robertson?
Born in 1975 in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Shauna Robertson is a producer, having worked on numerous films during her career as a producer, often in collaboration with Judd Apatow. However, she may be better known as the wife of actor Edward Norton. Her husband has won numerous awards for his work in film, with some of his biggest hits including “Birdman”, “Fight Club”, “The Illusionist” and “The Bourne Legacy”.
The Wealth of Shauna Robertson
As of early 2020, Shauna Robertson’s net worth is estimated to be over $35 million earned through a successful film career with many of her productions grossing millions at the box office. She is also likely benefiting from her husband’s success as Norton has a net worth estimated at over $80 million and is one of the most famous actors in the world.
Beginning of early life, education and career
Shauna grew up in Markham and was part of a very laid back family. Because of her family’s attitude, she had to learn how to be organized and responsible and was even jokingly called a dictator by her mother for always looking for efficiency.
At the age of 16, she had a clear direction in her life and dropped out of high school to move to Los Angeles, wanting to participate in film productions.
She started out as an assistant to producer and director Mike Binder, whom she met on a trip to a park in Canada. She helped him make the movie “Indian Summer”, filmed at Camp Tamakwa, and featuring an ensemble cast such as Diane Lane, Bill Paxton, Matt Craven and Alan Arkin. It also features an appearance by director Sam Raimi.
Continued film work
Robertson continued to work with well-known directors and actors over the years.

She met comedian Will Ferrell when the two worked together on the movie “Eleven”, considered one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time. He was impressed by her skills and work ethic, which led him to bring her onto the set of “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” – the film was produced by Judd Apatow and would lead to a long-lasting friendship between the two. The film received positive reviews and is considered one of the greatest comedy films of all time.
In the 2000s, she continued to work on several Apatow productions, including “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” in which Steve Carrell played the titular character whose co-workers helped him lose his virginity.
She also worked on “Knocked Up”, starring Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl, in which she tells the story of a one-night stand that leads to an accidental pregnancy. The movie was successful, so they went on to work on “Superbad” and “Pineapple Express”; the latter is a stoner comedy starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, which follows the story of two stoners who witness a murder and must escape corrupt police officers. The film received positive reviews and was also successful at the box office.
Husband – Edward Norton
Edward Norton was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but his family later moved to Columbia, Maryland, where his father worked as an environmental lawyer after previously serving during the Vietnam War.
His mother, on the other hand, worked as a teacher – he grew up with two siblings. He developed an interest in acting after seeing a musical version of “Cinderella”. He became fascinated with the cinematography of various films, but it was theater that inspired him to act.
As a child, he appeared in several professional productions such as ‘Annie Get Your Gun’. He attended Wilde Lake High School and began to dabble in acting, learning from some of his idols. After his matriculation exam, he enrolled at Yale College to earn a degree in history and Japanese. After graduating, he moved briefly to Osaka, Japan, where he worked for his grandfather’s company based there, and also learned aikido.
Wanting to chase his dream, he left the job after a few months and moved to New York City, doing odd jobs while looking for acting work.
The success of Edward Norton
After working on a few stage productions, Norton made his debut in the movie “Great fear‘, which propelled him to stardom as he received an Academy Award nomination for his role. Not used to the status, he started pushing away from becoming a celebrity and doing things normally. He continued to work and appeared in “American History X” as a reformed neo-Nazi, which earned him another Academy Award nomination. In 1999, he co-starred with Brad Pitt in “Fight Club” and the movie would go on to gain a cult following over the years.
In the 2000s, he continued his venture as an actor, while also working as a producer and director.
Some of his biggest acting projects of that time are “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, “The Illusionist” and “Moonrise Kingdom”. He also had many successful movies at the box office such as “Kingdom of Heaven” and “Red Dragon”. While he is known as one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, he is also known as a perfectionist to an error. He is known for changing scripts or final cuts of movies if he doesn’t like it. He has retained both negative and very positive views with many directors and producers, which he acknowledges.
Private life
Shauna started dating Edward in 2005 and the two stayed together for six years before getting engaged. They married the following year and have a child together.
Before their relationship, Edward was in a discreet relationship with actress Courtney Love, whom she credits as helping her reconnect with her daughter. After their relationship, he dated actress Salma Hayek with whom he remains good friends. She has credited him for being helpful in their personal and professional endeavours.
Robertson has been praised by Judd Apatow and many of the actors she has worked with as a woman who pushes the boundaries of humor even further than men, including nudity in her films, and takes the joke as far as she can, as seen in projects like as “Superbad”. Actor Jonah Hill even allowed that she had more perversity than any man he knows.
