Maggie was raised in Louisville by her father Mike Lawson, who was a hotel manager, and her mother Judy, who was a housewife. Maggie studied at St. Stephen Martyr School before attending Assumption High School where she became interested in acting, appearing in several plays performed at the school. After her matriculation exam in 1998, she decided not to enroll in a university but to pursue her dream of becoming a famous actress.
