Tyson remembers ground beef because it contains “mirror-like material.”
Texas beef buyers beware.
Tyson Foods Inc is recalling 93,697 pounds of raw ground beef, saying it may be contaminated with a hard “mirror-like material,” according to the USDA.
The beef was produced on November 2 and distributed to retail locations in Texas, including HEB supermarkets. After the company received several complaints from customers about glass in their beef, they contacted the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and the product was pulled from their shelves.

Here is a list of the recalled products.
- 10 lbs. Chub with “HILL COUNTRY FARE BEEF 73% LEAN/27% FAT with best before: NOV 25, 2022.”
- 5 lbs. Chub with “HILL COUNTRY FARE BEEF 73% LEAN/27% FAT with best before: NOV 25, 2022.”
- 5 lbs. chub with “HAVE GROUND CHUCK BEEF 80% LEAN/20% FAT.”
Fortunately, the FSIS says there are “no confirmed reports of side effects resulting from the consumption of these products.”
The agency urges anyone who believes they are sick or injured from consumption to contact a doctor.
