Paralympics gold medalist Ben Hance is one of three late additions to the Australian swim team for the upcoming Commonweath Games.

Hance, who won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo last year and Jack Ireland and Ruby Storm have been added to the Dolphins team.

Together with 27 other para-swimmers and 46 able-bodied swimmers, they will participate in the Birmingham Games from July 28.

Hance is the world record holder in the men’s 100m backstroke S14 and won the event at last year’s Paralympics and the recent world titles in Portugal.

He is also expected to compete in the mixed relay team in the 4x100m with 18-year-old Storm and Ireland – the trio belonged to the Australian team that won a silver medal in the relay at the world championships last month.
