Tony Collet, an Australian actress, recently announced her divorce from her husband of 20 years, Dave Galafassi. Collette, 50, took to Instagram on Dec. 7 to post a photo with the caption “Peace & Love,” along with a joint statement announcing their separation.

“We announce our separation with grace and gratitude; we are united in our choice and part with continued respect and care for each other; our children are of the utmost importance to us, and we will flourish as a family, albeit in a different form.”

The couple also asked for privacy as they “walk quietly through this transition.” The announcement of Toni Collette’s divorce came just hours after Galafassi, 44, kissed an unidentified woman on a Sydney beach. According to the Daily Mail, the lady has been identified as Shannon Egan, a chiropractor who lives on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Dave Galafassi is a drummer in Toni Collette & the Finish, an indie rock band from Port Macquarie, New South Wales. He has been fascinated with drumming since childhood and after gaining the skills, he performed with several Australian bands. He started his musical career in the early 1990s. He played drums in Gelbison, a Sydney indie rock band with three other members: Pete Farley, Edo and Nadav Kahn.

The band’s first album, 1704, was released in 2003 by Virgin Records and EMI Music Group to positive reviews and peaked at No. 20 on the ARIA Heatseekers Albums Chart. They also had a number of successful songs, including Metal Detector, Homelands and Good God. Dave Galafassi met Toni in Sydney while attending one of Gelbison’s shows. Later, the two met again at a party and started dating. In 2002, Toni Collette and Galafassi confirmed their engagement. They married in 2003 at Collette’s home on the south coast of Broughton in Berry, Australia. The ritual lasted two days and followed Buddhist guidelines. Sage Florence Galafassi, the first child of Toni and Dave, was born in 2008. Arlo Roberts Galafassi was born to them in 2011.

Dave Galafassi left Gelbison before their second album was released, and he and his wife formed Toni Collette & The Finish in 2006. Pete Farley, a former member of his band, also joined the group. The band recorded numerous successful songs in 2006 and 2007, including Look Up, Beautiful Awkward Pictures, Trouble With Sister, Tender Hooks and others, and toured Australia extensively. Aside from that, Dave Galafassi played a club drummer in Megan Griffiths’ 2013 comedy picture, Lucky Them.
