Emma Gretzky was born in Los Angeles, California, USA, on March 28, 2003 – her zodiac sign is Aries and she is an American national. She’s an athletebut who is best known as the youngest daughter of Wayne Gretzky, a former Canadian professional ice hockey player.

Early life, family and education

Emma grew up alongside her three brothers Ty, Trevor and Tristan, and her sister Paulina in Los Angeles by their father and their mother Janet Jones, a famous American actress. parents met on the show “Dance Fever”and started dating two years later in 1987 after they met again at a Los Angeles Lakers game.

They married on July 16, 1988 in a ceremony that reportedly cost Wayne more than $1 million.

Two of Emma’s brothers, Ty and Trevor, were very sporty, they played hockey and baseball respectively, and Emma also started playing different sports in her high school – she attracted a lot of attention when she turned 13, as famous Canadian singer Justin Bieber canceled his Meet and Greet event so he could meet her for her birthday.

Who is Wayne Gretzky?

Wayne Douglas Gretzky was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, on January 26, 1961 – his zodiac sign is Aquarius and he is a Canadian national. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 20 years, changing teams only three times.

Wayne grew up alongside his sister Kim and brothers Brent, Glen and Keith, in Brantford by their father Walter Gretzky, who was a hockey player, and their mother Phyllis Leone, who was a housewife – Wayne’s parents married in 1960.

Wayne first skated before turning three and was taught by his father. at the age of six he started playing for a team with children almost twice his age. By the time he turned 10, he was playing for the Brantford Nadrofsky Steelers, scoring 378 goals and tallying 139 assists. His family moved to Toronto when he was 14 to help him advance his career as a hockey player, and he competed in the Metro Junior B Hockey League in 1975 and 1976.

He signed with the Indianapolis Racers in 1978 and competed in the World Hockey Association (WHA), but by the end of the year the team went bankrupt and Wayne was sold to the Edmonton Oilers, where he remained until 1988.

While playing for the Oilers in 1985, a new rule known as “the Gretzky Rule” was introduced that stated that if two accidental penalties were called neither team would lose a player, but the rule was reversed in 1992 . In 1988, Wayne was traded to the Los Angeles Kings where he remained until 1996, after which he played one season for the St. Louis Blues. He then signed a contract with the New York Rangers and stayed with them until 1999, officially retiring on April 18, 1999 after the Rangers lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Wayne later stated: ‘My last game in New York was my best hockey day… Everything you love about hockey as a kid, driving mom and dad to practice, driving mom and dad to the game, watching in the stands and you mom and dad and your friends, it all came together in that last game in New York.’

Wayne is also a bit of an actor as he appeared in the American soap opera “The Young and the Restless” in 1981 while also appearing in a Russian film about the life of former Russian goalkeeper Vladislav Tretiak. He was a guest on the talk show “Saturday Night Live” in 1989, and also made a guest appearance in a single episode of the animated comedy series “The Simpsons”.

As a writer, Wayne published his first book – “Gretzky: An Autobiography” – in 1990, followed by his second book “99: My Life in Pictures” in 1999. His last book “99: Stories of the Game” was released in 2016, become a bestseller.
