Born on September 4, 1997 in the UK, her mother is now Nesbitt’s ex-wife, Sonia Forbes-Adam.
She has a younger sister Mary, born in 2001. Her parents separated in 2013 and they finalized their divorce three years later, having been married since 1994. Peggy’s career began in 2008, when she played Rachel in the drama film “Blessed”, starring her father James, alongside Natascha McElhone and Gary Lewis. The following year she appeared in the sequel “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”, and in 2014 in the third and final part “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”. Since then, she has not been involved in any new project, and while she has been active on social media, she has not revealed what she has been up to lately, other than having fun with her sister and friends.

Born William James Nesbitt on January 15, 1965 in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom; he is the son of James ‘Jim’ Nesbitt, the headmaster of the primary school he attended, and his wife May Nesbitt, who was a civil servant. The youngest of four and only son, his three sisters Margaret, Kathryn and Andrea are all now teachers. Growing up, he spent so much time alone, playing with a ball, desiring to become a professional footballer for Manchester United, or a teacher, following in his father’s footsteps.
The family moved to Coleraine, County Londonderry when his mother took a job with the Housing Executive. He attended the Coleraine Academical Institution (CAI) and later studied acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama (CSSD), moved to London, England at just 18 years old, and graduated from college four years later.
Career start
James had made his Act debut at just 13 years old; his parents decided to take him on an audition to Riverside Theater for the Christmas production of “Oliver!”, and after he sang “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the audition, he was cast as the Artful Dodger.
For the next three years he worked with Riverside Theater and received the Equity card when he performed as Jiminy Cricket in “Pinocchio”; he was lucky to get the part, as the originally selected actor broke his ankle just two days before the performance. He went on to stage roles, playing Brad Majors in the play “The Rocky Horror Show” and then appearing in “Godspell” as Jesus, both in 1983, while in 1987 he played Keith in the play “Up on the Roof”. He gradually moved on to screen roles, but remained faithful to the stage, working on such plays as “Hamlet”, “After Sun” and “The Laws of War”.
Success on the screen
James’ first notable on-screen role was in 1991, as Fintan O’Donnell in the comedy drama “Hear My Song” starring Ned Beatty, Adrian Dunbar and Brian Flanagan. Four years later, he secured his first starring role, as Tony in the romantic drama film “Go Now”, alongside Robert Carlyle and Juliet Aubrey. The following year, he was Uncle Joe in the romantic drama film “Jude”, starring Christopher Eccleston and Kate Winslet.
In 1997, he landed one of the most successful roles of his career, as Adam Williams in the TV series “Cold Feet”, and subsequently appeared in 60 episodes of the award-winning series, while in 1998 he played Pig Finn in the comedy film “Waken Ned Devine”, which was his first major success on film.
He successfully continued the role of Ivan Cooper in the historical war drama film “Bloody Sunday” (2002), about the Irish civil rights protest march and the mass murder of Irish people by British troops. His popularity increased further when he was selected for the role of Dr. Tom Jackman, who is also known for his alter egos Mr. Hyde and Dr. Jekyll in the TV mini-series “Jekyll” in 2007. Two years later, he starred with Liam Neeson in the thriller-drama film “Five Minutes of Heaven” while joining Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez in the 2010 comedy-drama film “ The Way”, and from 2012 to 2014 he played Bofur in the “The Hobbit” franchise.

In recent years, James has focused on television roles; in 2016 he was Colin Howell in the TV miniseries “The Secret”, then he was Harry Clayton in the TV series “Lucky Man” from 2016 to 2018, and most recently he played Tom Brannick in the TV miniseries “Bloodlands” . (2020).
TV presenter
Due to his specific accent and voice, he has been hired as the host of several TV shows; in 2008 he hosted the documentary show “Drama Trails” for 10 episodes, then hosted the “National Movie Awards” (2010) and “Northern Ireland’s Greatest Haunts”, while most recently he was the narrator on “British Airways 24/7: Access All areas” (2019).

Personal life and wealth
James and Peggy’s mother first met in 1989, and they began dating soon after. However, in 1991, they separated after the release of the movie “Hear My Song”, but they started dating again in 1994 and got married in the same year. In 2013, James announced their split and in 2016 they officially divorced. Since then he has had no affairs, at least in public.
He is involved in several charities, including Wave, which supports those affected by the Troubles, the ethno-nationalist conflict in Northern Ireland. He is also an ambassador for UNICEF UK.
In the 2016 New Year Honors List, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contribution to drama and the community in Northern Ireland.
