The film was highly successful, becoming the highest-grossing horror film of all time and named as one of the best films of the year. Its success led to the creation of a sequel.

Meanwhile, he landed numerous other offers in Hollywood, including a supporting role in ‘dead pool 2in which he appeared as the mutant Zeitgeist.
