Who is Linda Holiday?
Linda Kay Holliday was born on June 5, 1963 in Jupiter, Florida, USA. She is a philanthropist, television host, businesswoman, and former beauty queen, but probably best known as the girlfriend of Bill Belichick, head coach of the National Football League (NFL) team, the New England Patriots.
Linda Holliday’s net worth
As of mid 2020, Linda Holliday’s net worth is estimated to be over $1 million earned through success in her various endeavors. She has opened businesses, appeared in beauty pageants and worked in television, closely associated with the Patriots.
She is likely benefiting from her partner’s success as the two have been together for over a decade, and Belichick reportedly has a net worth of over $35 million.
Beginning of early life, education and career
At a young age, Linda became interested in pursuing a career in the field of medicine. She set her sights on it and continued it after her high school entrance exam. She enrolled at Vanderbilt University, a private university in Nashville, Tennessee, known for its prestigious research centers and large medical program. During her time there, she studied radiology, the practice of medical imaging to aid in the diagnosis of disease.
However, during college, things went in a different direction for her as her attractiveness motivated her to participate in beauty pageants. She won several and seemed to be heading into entertainment due to her success, thinking about becoming a model or an on-camera personality such as a presenter. She competed twice in the Miss Arkansas pageant, reaching second place both times. However, despite her background, she struggled to make the transition into the fashion world as a model.
Business and philanthropy
After a failed attempt to get into fashion, Holliday pursued other endeavors that led her into business.
Wanting to stay within the same domain, she founded the Blue Indigo Boutique clothing store in 2005. The store did well for a few years, but finally closed in 2009 due to declining sales. She also found less time to take care of the store as she got busy with her projects with Belichick.
After she started dating him, her public popularity grew, fueled by her beauty and her ability to show a softer side to Belichick. Her association with him led her to become the host of the “Style Boston” program, a magazine-like program with a focus on lifestyle. She focused on life in New England and did some talking about the Patriots because she had access to the team.
She also started gaining fame online as she posted more about her life alongside the American Football coach. The two launched The Bill Belichick Foundation which was created to help underprivileged individuals who demonstrate talents for coaching and playing American Football.
Partner – Bill Belichick
Bill grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, as part of a family that loved American Football. His father was a coach at the US Naval Academy and he learned a lot from his father as he grew up. He joined his father as he coached the team and broke down key details of recorded games in the academy. He attended Annapolis High School, where he played with his local American Football team. while also being a member of the lacrosse team.
After his matriculation, he attended Phillips Academy for a year to gain entry into a more prestigious school, so he enrolled at Wesleyan University and continued his career as a player while completing a degree in economics.
After graduating, he quickly entered the NFL when he took a support position as an assistant to Ted Marchibroda, who was coaching the Baltimore Colts at the time. After a year with the team, he moved to the Detroit Lions where he was a special teams assistant coach, but within a year he took on more responsibilities and moved to the Denver Broncos as a defensive assistant.
This would then lead him to his first significant long-term position as coach of the New York Giants special teams. He would rise through the ranks to become the defensive coordinator, and was responsible for helping the Giants win two Super Bowls during his tenure.
The success of Bill Belichick
Following Bill’s success with the New York Giants, he was hired by the Cleveland Browns as their head coach in 1991, where he served for five seasons, although he was primarily a failed run with them and only help the team to reach the playoffs in one season.
He was fired and returned to New England where he became an assistant head coach for the Patriots and helped the team get to Super Bowl XXXI, but they lost to the Green Bay Packers.
He later moved to the New York Jets as head coach, although it was short-lived for him resigned after being offered the head coaching job with the Patriots in 2000. Since then, he has remained the head coach of the Patriots, guiding them to win numerous titles, including nine Super Bowl appearances, winning six of them. He is the longest-tenured head coach still active in the NFL, and holds the record for wins in playoff coaching.
Before meeting Bill, Linda was married three times, first to Dennis Hess and she has two children from that marriage. After their divorce, she married Vaughn Corder, and her last marriage was to Eugene Holliday from whom she took his surname; none of these marriages ended well. She met Belichick in 2007 and the two started dating – he had also gone through a divorce. They have been together for at least 13 years, but show no clue that they plan to get married, probably because of their past bad experiences.
