Due to the popularity these videos generated among the public, Margera along with several friends founded the CKY Crew, which went on to release three more skating movies, referred to simply as “CKY2K”, “CKY3”, and “CKY4”. Margera rose to prominence in 2003, when her own TV reality series “Viva la Bambegan airing on MTV. A spin-off show from Jackass, it was written and produced by Margera herself, and filmed on his 14-acre estate in Pennsylvania’s Castle Bam. It aired for five seasons until 2006, featured his family members and friends, and produced a total of 40 episodes, each with a specific theme, mission, or task to complete.
From 2001 to 2016, Bam rode as a member of the Team Element skateboarding crew, before officially retiring in 2017.
In August 2019 the LAPD arrested Margera after he refused to check out of the Luxury Sunset Boulevard Hotel in LA, California, a few days later hospitalized by edema. Bam’s alcoholism is known for leading to a number of public incidents, including arrests and several half-hearted attempts at rehab, the latest in late 2019.
After to divorce by Mrs. Rothsteinin 2013, he married Nicole Boyd with whom he welcomed his only child to date, a son named Phoenix Wolf born in December 2013.
