A member of the somewhat infamous Brown family of Discovery Channel’s “Alaskan Bush People,” Snowbird is affectionately referred to as Birdie by her large family. Snowbird has managed to exceed all her family’s expectations and has developed into an independent woman with a sympathetic but strong character. Of the two sisters in the Brown family, Birdie seems to be the most in tune with nature, spending hours observing and engaging with the world around her. Amora Jean Snowbird Brown was born on November 18, 1994 in Alaska, USA to Amora ‘Ami’ Brown and Billy Byron Brown. Her family has a penchant for elaborate and descriptive names, and with a family as large as hers, this has led to an abundance of creativity. Birdy was the first daughter after five boys, and has two younger siblings, a sixth brother and a sister. Her brothers names are Matthew ‘Matt’ Jeremiah, Joshua ‘Bam Bam’, Solomon Isaiah Freedom Bear, Gabriel ‘Gabe’ Starbuck and Noah Darkcloud. Her sister’s name is the longest of the bunch: Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop.

There is a tense family relationship with her half-sister, Twila Byars, who lives in Texas, who has openly claimed to be the only normal member of her gene pool, but her relationship with her father is barely there. Over the years, she has also experienced issues with her brother, most notably Matt, who has been in rehab twice for his struggles with alcohol abuse. It’s not all lame though, as she is the proud aunt to several of her brothers’ children.

As the first daughter after five boys, the Brown family didn’t know what to do to expect with birdy. At the very least, they expected to coddle and shelter her to protect her from the ravages of the outdoors.

However, Birdie completely defied expectations when she fell in love with the outdoors at the age of five and was able to play outside for hours. Birdie loved getting up in the mountains and spending time by the ocean and river, writing and drawing, sometimes just observing the local deer and other wildlife. Birdie has had quite a menagerie of pets over the years, straying from the conventional dogs and cats, including a squirrel, five red-eared sliders and a few frogs. She is an adept hunter and fisherwoman, and is a skilled person in the bush.

Birdie grew up as an active cast member of Discovery Channel’s “Alaska Bush people”, a heavily written and allegedly staged docudrama, following the lives of the Brown family as they live off the land in the Alaskan bush. The series premiered on May 6, 2014 when Snowbird was 20, and while all filming initially took place on Chichagof Island, Alaska, it eventually moved to Pine Lake, Washington State. Wherever the family chooses to figuratively camp, they call their little commune “Brownstown.”

There is an endless amount of controversy over the show, many claiming that practically every aspect of it is staged. It has been discovered that Brownstown is never as far from civilization as claimed, so the family also has more access to modern amenities than they claim. At the very least, they have electricity and Wi-Fi, evidenced by Rain’s constant presence on social media.

The family experienced a trauma when the entire family, with the exception of Rain, who was too young at the time, received court papers. Because of their negligible documentation as a result of living without power, the state of Alaska accused the family of faking their citizenship to profit from the state dividend.

Devastated and betrayed, Billy Brown and his son Bam Bam decided to make a plea that would get them jail time but let the rest of the family walk free.

Private life

Snowbird has kept out of the media whenever possible, keeping her relationships and experiences to herself. Birdie has no social media presence, unlike her sister Rain, which means we’re much less aware of her private life and any tidbits that social media might reveal.

Like the rest of her family, she was devastated when her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. Although she has since overcome the disease. it resulted in a flurry of negative media attention claiming that the entire diagnosis was staged.

Snowbird is now one of the oldest left at home, as several brothers have married and moved away from Brownstown. Her brother Bear is currently expecting a child with his ex-fiancée, to whom he was only engaged for two weeks. Noah is married with a child and Gabe is also married. Since there is no information about her dating life, it is not known if she will follow in their footsteps anytime soon.

Appearance

While Snowbird is slim and fit, many are often surprised by her teeth. Her upper teeth are disordered with kinks and holes, but no attempt has been made to correct this, which some believe is due to the family’s limited contact with civilization.

While Snowbird has not commented on this condition, she usually offers a closed-mouth smile, indicating that she may be self-aware of this. Snowbird has dark brown hair that she keeps long and healthy. She has brown eyes and a pink complexion; her vital statistics have not been made public.
