The story of the manga The Tunnel to Summer, The Exit of Goodbyes
In 2020, Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine began publishing a manga adaptation titled The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye: Ultramarine as drawn by Koudon.
The light novel and manga were licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. Here is the summary of the story:
Tono Kaoru heard a story that the Urashima tunnel is oblivious to the rules of space and time. If you locate it, walk through it, and on the other side, you will find your heart’s desire… in exchange for years of your own life.
That night, Kaoru faces a tunnel that looks strangely like the one described in the story. He remembers Karen, his sister who died in an accident five years earlier.
To Kaoru’s surprise, he is followed by Anzu Hanaki, a new transfer student. She promises to help him in his experiments with the strange tunnel, but what would she want in return? And what will he be left with when the tunnel is finished with him?
