Star Trek: PicardThe final season of the series sees Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) reunite with some of his crew members from the USS Enterprise, including Worf (Michael Dorn), William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) , Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) as they face a new foe, Vadic (Amanda Plummer).
The season premiere, aptly titled “The Next Generation,” debuted last week on Paramount Plus, with the streamer adding new episodes every Thursday. In a review of the show’s first six episodes, The edge‘s editor-in-chief Alex Cranz calls the show a “very nice sequel to Star Trek: The Next Generation:”
While this season puts its characters in horrible places, and there are rumors that a few will die at the end of the season, this wild ride really has genuine affection for all players. It’s definitely the most fun I’ve had watching Paramount Plus’ countless Star Trek shows. And part of my love for this final season stems from how excited the show is to take some of it Star Trek‘s most impeccable heroes and find the humanity in them.
You’ll have to pay for a Paramount Plus subscription if you want to watch the rest of the episodes, and unfortunately the streamer plans to raise its prices soon. Paramount also doesn’t specify how long the episode will be available for, so if you’ve been hesitating whether you want to go back Star Treknow seems like a good time to do it.
