The Samsung 1TB 980 Pro SSD costs $134.99 for GameStop Pro members
It’s the hump day for a holiday weekend, which means it officially feels like time is moving as slow as possible. However, there is one solution to speed things up: buy a fast SSD for your PC or PlayStation 5.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but listen to me. You don’t want to spend your precious hours on slow loading times for applications and games. Thankfully, the 1TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSD with a heatsink will help you do that, and it’s currently on sale for $169.99 at GameStop and Amazon† What’s more, if you have a GameStop Pro Member (which costs $14.99 per year), you get an additional discount that brings it down to $134.99 – which is the downright best price. That extra “pro” sale is a $95 savings off the MSRP, while the rest of us plebs still save a respectable $60.
An SSD with a heatsink is the only solution to expand the PS5’s fast (though somewhat limited) storage. The 980 Pro is up to the task with read speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s. It’s also a great core M.2 SSD for your own custom PC build.

While this Chromecast offers a lot of great features, such as an excellent Google TV-powered launcher, 4K resolution, and HDR support, it’s a bit anemic on the built-in storage. This might not be a problem if you stick to your favorite streaming services, but keep that in mind if you want to install tons of apps for your TV. Just don’t be very surprised if one day you have to pick one or two unused apps to uninstall in order to fit something new into its meager 8GB of storage. Read our review†
