TBS Animation has released the third and final trailer for Eiga Gotōbun no Hanayome of The Quintessential Quintuplets The Movie, which premieres in Japan on May 20. The new trailer for the film was released on May 5, 2020 to celebrate the birthday of the Nakano quintuplets.
The film is a continuation of the anime series of the same name and would serve as the series finale. It is directed by Masato Jinbo at Bilbury Animation Studios. He is also directing The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2.
The cast for the film remains the same as the second season of the anime series with:
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Futaro Uesugi
- Kana Hanazawa as Ichika Nakano
- Ayana Taketatsu as Nino Nakano
- Miku Itou as Miku Nakano
- Ayane Sakura as Yotsuba Nakano
- Inori Minase as Itsuki Nakano
The Quintessenial Quintuplets anime
The Quintessential Quintuplets anime premiered in January 2019, with the first season of 12 episodes. The season was directed by Satoshi Kuwabara at Tezuka Productions.
The second season was set to premiere in October 2020, but was postponed due to Covid 19. It eventually aired in January 2021 for an additional 12 episodes. The season was directed by Kaori at Bilbury Animation Studios.

A new bonus chapter for the Quintessential Quintuplets manga
The Quintessential Quintuplets is written and illustrated by Negi Haruba and published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The manga ended in Japan in February 2020 with 122 chapters bundled into 14 tankōbon volumes.
Recently, a new bonus chapter was announced as part of a visitor promotion for the upcoming film. The Quintessential Quintuplets Chapter 123 will be officially labeled Chapter 122+1 and entitled, “The Quintuplet Can’t Divide the Secret in Five Equal Parts. Kodansha USA, the English publisher of the series describes the story as:
Five girls who want to do anything but study, and their tutor: a high school student who understands books and not much else. Futaro Uesugi took the tutoring job because he was desperate for money, but when his students – the five beautiful daughters of a wealthy businessman – find five excuses to slack off, what can he do?! At this rate, the sisters won’t graduate, so if he wants to get paid, Futaro has to come up with a plan to suit each of them… That feels hopeless when five out of five of them think he’s a loser!
