Digital payments, contactless meal ordering apps, and food delivery apps have exploded in use in recent years, largely due to the changing consumer behavior caused by the pandemic. With crowds of people flocking to major events and stadiums, the convenience and efficiency of these services in large environments is in high demand.

Vivid, an on-site delivery service, delivers food and drinks instantly to customers’ stadium seats, keeping spectators in the moment rather than standing in line. As venues reevaluate their crowd management techniques, Liively offers a purpose-built, contactless solution that delivers more orders for suppliers, less staffing pressure, and an improved customer experience.

Antler investment thesis

“While QR code contactless ordering has taken off for dining experiences, this solution has yet to be widely translated to stadiums in Australia,” said Bede Moore, APAC Managing Partner at Antler.

“We foresee a path for Liively to be the in-venue delivery service serving customers with hot meals and refreshing drinks at Australia’s largest stadiums and events. As Liively doubles the economics of its units to deliver its offering at scale, we have conviction in its team to execute on its go-to-market strategy, backed by an advisory board with experience ranging from Mr Yum, Uber and Sidekicker .

Traction/milestones

This year, Liively developed its MVP with input and support from key locations and suppliers. In doing so, it attracted the attention of major venues across Australia, including the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Marvel Stadium and major events such as the inaugural Night Noodle Markets.

As a result, Liively’s MVP and go-to-market food delivery team are in place and on the cusp of launching their product at scale.

says the founder

“While digital payment platforms change the way we order from restaurants, pubs and bars, our experiences at large events remain largely unchanged. Everyone knows times when you miss the action when queuing for a beer, burger or fries at a big event. We are on a mission to change just that,” said Norbert Herrmann, Founder of Liively.

“The interest from both suppliers and locations in the opportunities Liively can unleash to improve customer experiences is exciting. Beyond stadiums and large-scale live events, we are driven to expand our offering more broadly into suitable enclosed environments ranging from corporate offices, healthcare, campuses and beyond.

“Antler has been instrumental in bringing Lively to life. Joining a community of like-minded ambitious entrepreneurs driven to disrupt industries and solve some of the biggest challenges we face has been a remarkable experience.”
