The 5 best tech giants to work for in Australia

A new report has revealed a number of global tech companies that are among the best places in Australia to work.

This has been announced by the Top Employers Institute best workplaces for 2023with five technology companies ranking among the top companies in Australia.

The Institute’s program certifies companies based on participation in and results of their Human Resources Best Practices Survey, which covers six human resources domains and 20 topics, including people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, diversity and inclusion, and well-being .

The top five technology companies to work for in Australia are:

  • HCLTech
  • infosys
  • WiPro Limited
  • Tata Consulting Services
  • UST worldwide.

The companies recognized as top employers performed particularly well during the pandemic and took care of their employees, explains CEO David Plink of the Top Employers Institute.

“Exceptional times bring out the best in people and organizations,” he said.

“And we saw that this year in our Top Employers Certification program: an exceptional achievement of the certified Top Employers 2023.”

The 2023 report replay recognizes some of the companies that have effectively taken care of their employees during the pandemic and have maintained many of the same practices in recent months.

The Top Employers Institute has now certified more than 2,000 companies in more than 120 countries.

To be recognized, a company must first be assessed against the organization’s eligibility criteria. Once approved, the company participates in the study and is assessed based on its people practices.

The research covers six HR domains: directing, shaping, attracting, developing, engaging and uniting.

To qualify, a company must have at least 250 local or 2,500 international employees and have advanced and formal human resources practices.

HCLTech is a global technology company employing nearly 220,000 people in 54 countries and with offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The company helps other companies with digital transformation, with digital, engineering and cloud capabilities.

Included in the HR-focused policy is the TechBee employee-driven initiative.

This young worker program helps train the next generation of tech workers and aims to attract workers with non-technical backgrounds to retrain in the industry.

The company was named a Top Employer in Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and worldwide.

HCLTech executive vice president and country manager Australia and New Zealand Michael Horton said being a top employer is all about putting the employees first.

“Our employees are the core of our business, and by putting them first, we have fostered a community where employees can grow as individuals and work as a collective,” said Horton.

Fellow Top Employer Infosys has 5,500 employees across Australia and New Zealand, with offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Parramatta and Perth.

WiPro has over 2,000 employees in Australia and offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth.

Tata Consultancy has 20,000 employees in Australia, India and other regions to serve the local market, while UST has offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
