He has appeared in several movies, but his most notable success has always been in television series. Early life and family
Not much is known about Seth’s childhood, or who his parents are. All that is known is that he was born on the November 5, 1968, in Long Island, New York, USA. If he has siblings, they have remained out of the public eye and Seth has successfully concealed the truth about his family and early life.
Educational background
Seth’s earliest school career is also a mystery as it has not been publicly announced where he graduated from high school. However, it is common knowledge that Seth graduated from the State University of New York.
It is well known that he was a classmate of the actor Dwight Ewell, but what Seth graduated from has been kept quiet and no record can be found. He completed college in 1990 and started his acting career soon after.
Career
Seth’s first role was on “The Cosby Show” as Aaron Dexter, appearing in three episodes between 1990 and 1991. In 1993, he appeared in two films in small roles before breaking through to stardom. These movies were “Joey Breaker” where he starred as Jeremy Breaker and “Mr Wonderful”.
Over the next few years, he landed several more roles, including a role in the 1996 movie “Courage Under Fire,” starring alongside Denzel Washington. It wasn’t until 1997 that Seth received real recognition on the silver screen when he played the character of Sugar Watkins in the critically acclaimed movie “Starship Troopers”. He had a notable recurring role in the television series “Oz” which lasted from 1999 to 2001, and also appeared in “Law and Order”.
In 2002, he landed one of his most iconic roles in “The Wire,” which ran for six years and 50 episodes.
During his time on the set of “The Wire,” Seth also appeared in numerous other television series and movies, including “The Bronx is Burning,” “Law and Order: Trial by Jury,” and the movie “Punks.”
When his role in “The Wire” ended in 2008, Seth was already popular and in demand as an actor, appearing in the popular shows “CSI: Miami”, “Damages” and “Mercy”.
In the same year 2009, Seth landed a role in the iconic movie “Did You Hear About The Morgans?” starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant.

In the following years before getting another recurring role, Seth appeared on shows like “The Good Wife” and “Svetlana”.
From 2011 to 2017, Seth appeared in the supernatural drama “Teen Wolf”, playing the character Dr. Alan Deaton starred in 43 episodes. During that time, he also appeared in the movies “Still Alice” and “Police State”, and also landed a role in the ever-popular “The Walking Dead”, starring in 52 episodes as of 2014, and is still on the hallway. His other most recent appearances were in “Elementary”, “City on a Hill” and on the show “Bull”.
Hobbies, favorite things and interesting facts
Not much is known about Seth’s personal interests, and his Facebook account, while active, isn’t very insightful either. However, the actor had a run-in with the law not so long ago.
After being pulled over for exceeding the speed limit, Seth was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, but was released after he was able to post bail of just under $10,000.
This happened in May 2015, but fortunately the incident did not affect the shooting of “The Walking Dead”.
Relationships
Seth is married to the theater director Leah Gardiner, and the couple have one child together, but have successfully hidden their child’s identity from the public. Leah was married before, but from August 24, 2005 she made her vows to Seth, and the couple have been together ever since.
