Early life and education
Sara grew up in a Jewish family – her mother Dr. Jane Eisen was a child scientist, while her father Dr. Drore Eisen is best known for co-founding CDx Diagnostics, a laboratory that helps people detect and treat cancer. Both of Sara’s paternal grandparents are Holocaust survivors.
Sara attended Camp Ramah Jewish School where she became interested in acting and learned how to dance and act. After matriculation, she enrolled at New York University, graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She continued her education at Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, where she received her master’s degree in journalism in 2009.
Career as a reporter
Sara launched her career as a journalist in 2006, when she joined ForexTV.com as an intern, mainly in the foreign exchange market.
After completing her undergraduate degree, she joined Bloomberg Television, where her responsibilities included writing packages and helping behind-the-scenes production. She was allowed to stay in Hong Kong where she worked for four months, while also being given the opportunity to visit the Philippines and report from there.
After returning from Hong Kong, she lived in New York City and worked there as a production assistant for Bloomberg Television. Sarah meets Matthew Levin soon after she started working at Bloomberg Television, where Matt currently serves as editor-in-chief. They became engaged in 2015 and were married on May 29, 2016 in a Jewish ceremony at Weylin B. Seymour in Brooklyn. She gave birth to their son Samuel in December 2017, while their second son Gerson followed in 2019.

Controversy
While reporting for Bloomberg TV on May 14, 2012, Sara’s skirt could have been seen up while she was repairing her microphone. She shouldn’t have been in the picture, but the cameraman made a mistake.
When she noticed she was being filmed, she quickly adjusted her skirt, but the video of the segment became popular on the internet, especially on reddit.
Hobbies and other interests
Sara loves to sample different cuisines, while she especially enjoys going to restaurants in New York City, with two of her favorites being Franny’s and Santina. She enjoys watching movies, with some of her favorite actors and actresses being Will Smith, Tom Hanks and Jennifer Aniston, while some of her favorite movies are “Sleepless in Seattle”, “Coming to America” and “The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless spirit”.
