Samsung Galaxy S22 vs Samsung Galaxy S21: Samsung recently announced the new Galaxy S22 series, which also includes the S21 fan. Do you want to know about the improvements? We will tear it down.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Series Synopsis
As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra all arrived a year ago. The S21 is a basic (very small) lineup model with a 6.2-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB RAM, in-display ultrasonic sensor for fingerprinting, three different cameras (12MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, 64MP telephoto), 8K video recording, wireless charging, and limited IP68 protection, all starting at $ 799.
The S21 Plus has it all with a large 6.7-inch display and a large $ 999 battery. The state-of-the-art S21 Ultra was a creme de la creme, large 6.8-inch display, impressive 108MP rear camera, 40MP front-facing camera – and the base equivalent price of $ 1,199. It was also supported by the S-Pen, which was a hunch about what was to come.
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 list is official now as the smartphone maker has added three new phones to its system. As the company has done in recent years, there are two basic models, the S22 and S22 Plus, and in the case of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, there is a higher-end model like the Galaxy Note.
We will only focus on the Galaxy S22 and how it compares to last year’s Galaxy S21. If you want to know how the other S22s compare and match their 2021 counterparts, be sure to check out the division between Matthew Miller’s S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra.
Let’s Go back to S21 and S22
The most important change is the complete composition. The S21’s display is more rounded, while the S22 shows rounded edges in favor of a flat-topped design. The display size is as follows. The S22 screen is actually reduced to just a touch, from 6.2-inches in the S21 to 6.1-inches in the S22.
Processor and Battery
Inside, the S22 uses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, but the storage and memory options have not changed. However, according to the screen size, the battery inside the S22 isn’t added on either.
The S21 packs a 4,000mAh battery, while the S22 packs a 3,700mAh battery. However, I’m not sure how much battery depletion affects overall battery life.
Another major change is the camera system behind the phone. The S21 has two 12-megapixel cameras – one wide, one wide – and a 64-megapixel phone camera. Going by the specifications alone, it is clear that the Samsung Galaxy S21 is focused on efforts to provide owners with better information in terms of photography.
With the Galaxy S22, Samsung has taken the course again. There are still three cameras on the back of the phone, but this time there is only a 12-megapixel-wide camera, a 50-megapixel-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom telephoto shooter. I would love to see Samsung usage statistics and how often S21 owners use the 64-megapixel phone camera. Based on the S22 camera setup I can try to guess if it can be used regularly.
So, if you decide whether or not to upgrade from S21 to S22, You can go through this article to sort your ways!!
There are differences between the two phones, but the difference does not have a positive effect on performance. That is if you do not take a lot of photos and you take advantage of the (wide) 50-megapixel main camera on the S22.
If you are upgrading to an older iPhone or Galaxy phone, the S22 (on paper) seems to be a viable option. Using the latest version of Android, it has a unique sheet that guarantees to provide a consistent experience and is priced at $ 799.
Speaking of the specs sheet, it does not tell the full story of what to expect, but it does provide more insight when comparing the two devices. With this in mind, here is the S21 specification sheet against S22:
