During the next decade he started hosting seminars and regularly appears at conferences. His seminars were also very successful with many people attending the usually expensive event.

Using the wealth he gained from working as a coach, he started venturing into investments and business. He helped buy the rights to the Los Angeles Football Club along with former professional basketball player Magic Johnson. He is also one of the owners of the eSports team, Team Liquid who is known for appearing in various video game competitions such as “DotA 2”.

Controversies – Tony Robbins

With his extensive career, Tony has also seen his share of controversy, which is common among people in his industry. In 1995, he paid more than $200,000 in fines for violating the Federal Trade Commission franchise rule. Five years later he had one lawsuit brought against him by financial author Wade Cook because Tony used many sentences from his books in his seminars, which are copyrighted sentences.

Cook was to be paid $600,000 after the judge ruled in his favor; the case was later appealed and settled out of court. Since 2012, he has been covered by the media for his promotion of firewalking, which he has included in his seminars since learning about it early in his career, which many have considered unsafe and dangerous.

Private life

Sage and Tony were no strangers to marriage when they met. He was first married to Rebecca Jenkins whom he met at a seminar, and they remained together for 14 years. He also has a son from an ex-girlfriend. In 2000, Sage met him at a seminar. She was married at the time, but the two became romantically involved, and her now former husband accused Tony because he steals a wife, and his seminar the reason for their divorce. The two married a year later and now live in Manalapan, Florida, but are often seen together when they travel for work.
