Original story of the writer of Saekano

A-1 Pictures (Kaguya-sama) announced today at AnimeJapan 2022 that they will be creating an original TV anime with the help of Saekano’s writer Fumiaki Maruto, titled Engage Kiss. Previously announced as “Project Engage,” the anime will premiere in July 2022.
The series follows Shuu, an unlucky businessman, throughout his daily life aboard the megafloat Baylon City, created by the discovery of an entirely new form of energy.
A teaser trailer for the series was also revealed, showing you the voice acting, behavior and setting of the anime, which you can check out below:
Who is working on Engage Kiss?
As previously mentioned, the studio providing Engage Kiss will be A-1 Pictures, known for their work on Kaguya-sama, Sword Art Online and the Seven Deadly Sins. Character designs are provided by Tsunako, known for her work designing the characters of Neptunia and Date A Live, with screenwriting duties by the aforementioned Fumiaki Maruto.
The main cast will be Soma Saito as Ogata Shuu, the hapless little businessman who can’t help but find himself in debt, Aizawa Saya as Kisano, the concerned girl who wants to help Shuu with household chores because he can’t take care of himself very well. , and Lynn as Yuugiri Ayano, Shuu’s scorned ex-lover who was his colleague at his former employer.
The director of the project and the screenwriter have not yet been announced.
Why haven’t other personnel been announced for the series?
This could be a situation similar to the recently announced Love Flops of Plastic Memories, where the team behind the series has glossed over to give it a show of innocence despite the darker subject matter, or it could just be a withholding of information until closer to the series launch to delight the public at its unveiling. Evidence pointing to this could be the lack of an animated teaser trailer, despite A-1 Pictures’ history of accompanying each project announcement with an animated teaser.
Along with the above evidence, the mystery behind his ex-lover as an employee of his former company, opening his own company, the katakana name for Kisano with no surname, which is typically used for androids, and the overwhelming scientific fi… of a new form of energy leading to a mega float city suggests this won’t be your typical rom-com. In addition, Tsunako has a strong history of working with SciFi related properties, especially with regard to transformations. She may have been specifically chosen for her abilities in that area.
Given the strong cast, Engage Kiss certainly won’t be an anime you want to miss!
