It’ll be interesting to see how they choose to adapt the franchise’s work going forward – we’re all for the upcoming movie!
What exactly will the upcoming Quintessential Quintuplets movie cover?
Before you read on, be on the lookout for any potential spoilers for the movie as we’ll be covering the events in the manga that haven’t been covered in the anime yet.
Last year, TBS released the following trailer for the upcoming movie:
This teaser trailer contains a very specific scene from the manga – the scene where Fuutarou chooses one of the five girls to start dating. It is therefore suggested that the film will cover until the end of the series. Although that’s a lot of material to handle – multiple arches in fact! – it’s not unheard of for an anime movie to wrap entire volumes into a single movie, for better or for worse. It’s very possible they pull a Date-A-Live and cover the rest of the series in about 2 hours of runtime.
While it’s not clear exactly how they plan to pull this off, it will be exciting to see how they pull off the most iconic scene in the manga. Can’t wait for the best girl to win!
Will there be a season 3 of the anime?
Since this movie seems to cover the entire rest of the series that hasn’t been covered by season 1 or 2 so far, there’s unlikely to be a third season of the anime. However, it is possible that the film will have a sequel or side story, a la Non Non Biyori’s latest venture into anime-original side story content for movies. Still, it’s unlikely that the series will continue following this film – it seems to be a closing conclusion to one of the longest-running harem romcoms in recent memory.
