Netflix’s One Piece account has released a video commemorating the birthday of One Piece’s lead character Luffy.
One Piece currently tells the story of the War for Wano Arc, in which Luffy leads the charge with his Straw Hat Pirates against the evil Kaido and his Beast Pirates. However, Eiichiro OdaShonen’s series has a number of other big projects in the works.
Netflix is currently working on the first live-action version of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Iñaki Godoy, the young actor who will play Luffy, has released a new video to commemorate the Shonen hero’s birthday. Also the hero of the Shonen vie to become the pirate king.

The official Netflix One Piece account featured the young actor who will be playing Luffy.
He commemorates the Straw Hat Captain’s birthday by uploading a video with fans. He’s also offering fans a taste of what his take on the beloved Shonen hero would be as development of the Netflix original series continues:
A premiere date for this new live-action version has not yet been announced. However, fans were concerned about the series’ durability following the demise of Cowboy Bebop from Netflix.
Although the live-action version of Cowboy Bebop was suspended after one season, the streaming service is pushing ahead with live-action adaptations from others. They include Avatar The Last Airbender, Mobile Suit: Gundam, and Yu Yu Hakusho, just to name a few.
One Piece live-action adaptation
One Piece is one of the best-selling mangas of all time, but its impact is hard to quantify. Also, millions of readers around the world have been influenced by the series.
From anime to manga, Luffy becomes a symbol of action and a hero. And as Netflix develops its live-action adaptation of One Piece, fans are waiting with bated breath.
Along with Godoy, the new Netflix series has cast several Straw Hat Pirates. This includes Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Emily Rudd as Nami. Morgan Davies as Koby, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, Jeff Ward as Buggy, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Vincent Regan as Garp and Peter Gadiot as Red-haired Shanks round out the cast.
Followers are crossing their fingers that the adaptation will be able to get close to the original material when all is said and done, with the series looking to recreate One Piece’s early stories.
