The film has a similarly star-studded lineup of voice actors. Voice acting talents include: Mamoru Miyano, Yuuki kaji, Jun Shison, Alice Hirose and Tasuku Hatanaka.
What is the Bubble anime story about?
Bubble is an original story loosely inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. It is set in an abandoned Tokyo, shortly after a bizarre event plunged the city into chaos.
One day mysterious bubbles rained from the sky. These bubbles somehow broke the laws of gravity and isolated Tokyo from the rest of the world, trapping it in a bubble of its own.
This makes the city a playground for young people who are separated from their families. They form parkour teams and navigate a devastated Tokyo, jumping off both bubbles and buildings.
Then the youngsters must fight to survive in a world where resources are becoming increasingly scarce.
The story follows Hibiki, a gifted but reckless ace known for his risky play style. During one of his forays, he messes up a maneuver and falls into the gravity-defying sea. Uta, a girl with special powers, saves his life.
Shortly after, the couple hears a strange noise that is only audible to them.
Who is Uta? What Causes the Mysterious Sound? And most importantly, where did the bubbles come from?
In any case, one thing is certain. Their meeting will lead to a revelation that will change the world.
Who is behind Lumpy?
As mentioned before, WIT Studio takes care of the animation production. The film itself is the result of a collaboration between Netflix and anime studios BONES and Production IG (the latter being WIT Studio’s sister company).
The streaming giant announced the partnership back in 2018. To strengthen the animation series, Netflix has made an effort to provide more high-quality and original anime content.
In line with WIT Studio productions such as Attack on Titan and Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song, Bubble promises stunning visuals and dynamic animations.
