1 | [on her role in Black Sails (2014)] I’m not technically on the pirate ships. I trade a lot from the brothel. But I’m not in the brothel all the time either. I’m around. But I have a fantasy that I’m going to turn into a very tough pirate, who lives on the ship and kills very cunning men. |
2 | I used to think being a pirate was really cool, sexy. It’s not. It’s terrifying. It really is a horrific, filthy, scary world where people died for simple things. When a cannon goes off, the splinters of the wood get into their eyes and they get an infection. Or they don’t have enough to eat. Or they get scurvy. It’s a terrifying way to survive. |
