american actress, Gina Tognoni was born on November 28, 1973 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She is best known for her role in “The Young and the Restless.” She was born to Edward Anthony Tognoni and Sharon Tognoni, and she has a sister, Maggie Tognoni.

In 1995, she made her soap opera debut on ABC’s “One Life to Live”, as Kelly Cramer. After six years on the show, in April 2001, she announced she would not be renewing her contract with the soap. She returned to daytime television in July 2004 in CBS’s “Guiding Light” as Dinah Marler.

Her list of guest roles includes appearing in “Fastlane” as Gabriella in 2003, “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” as Officer Kristen Vaill in 2005, and “The Sopranos” as Catherine Lipman in 2006. From 2009 to 2010, she appeared in the web series Venice: The Series, as Sami Nelson. In 2009, after CBS’s “Guiding Light” was canceled, she returned to “One Life to Live” as Kelly Cramer and remained so until it was canceled in 2011. On May 22, 2014, it was announced that she would replace Michelle Stafford in CBS’s ” The Young and the Restless” as Phyllis Summers.

In 2019, Daytime Confidential announced Michelle Stafford’s decision to leave “General Hospital” and return to “The Young and the Restless” as Phyllis Summers. In the past, she has dated Tom Pelphrey and Mark Derwin. On November 21, 2007, she became engaged to insurance professional Joseph Chiarello. They were introduced by Gina’s former co-star, Beth Ehlers, and have been married since May 16, 2009. Joseph is the president of a corporate insurance program for the firearms industry Joseph Chiarello & Co. Inc.

They have no children yet; and have not spoken about the desire to expand their family. Gina has a goddaughter, Kinzie, who is often mistaken as her biological daughter by other people. When not working, the happy couple divides their time between Los Angeles and New Jersey.
