Not everyone makes their breakthrough right away, and it can take years for someone to make headlines. Such was the case with Conor Leslie, who starred in a number of low-rated commercials and films before being cast in “Titans,” the role that changed her life. Who is Conor Leslie really and what has her career been like?

Early life and education

Conor Marie Leslie was born on April 10, 1991 in Millburn, New Jersey, USA, to parents John and Rosanne Leslie, and has a younger brother, Dylan.

Her mother is a motivational speaker, published author, and intuitive life coach. She is of Scottish and Italian descent and holds American nationality. While she is still very young discovers a passion for photography. She attended Millburn High School which she enrolled in as a junior in 2008. After completing her high school, she moved to New Your City, USA.

Career

While still in high school, Leslie appeared in numerous commercials along with a friend of hers.

At age 15, she became committed to transitioning into TV acting and moved to New York so she could get more roles. In 2007, she was cast in the pilot for MONY, a project directed by Spike Lee, but the series was never picked up. Therefore, it is believed that her television debut was a guest appearance on the 2009 show “The Unusuals” where she played Karen Delmonte, the girlfriend of high school Detective Eric Delahoy. Next year she portrayed Eliza, a teenager who was caught showing herself naked on a webcam during the finale of the famous series “Law and Order”.

The same year, she played the character of Mia Caruso, a young journalist suspected of murder in “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”, and she also made a cameo appearance in “90210” as a flirtatious college student named Parker. She landed her first movie role in 2010, portraying high school student Amy in “Beware the Gonzo”.

In 2011, Leslie continued her guest starring roles on TV, appearing as Chloe Cotten in “No Ordinary Family”. Next year, she landed another movie role when she was cast in 2012 psychological thriller ‘Chained’.

She was praised by reviewer Jamie S. Rich, and despite being very critical of the film itself, he did noted that her acting was excellent.

In 2013, Leslie had the roles in the unreleased pilot for ‘Widow Detective’, as well as ‘Campus Life’ – which was re-released in 2015 under the name ‘Campus Code’ – and in the television series ‘Rizzoli Isles’. and “Revenge”. Appearance in Titans

Leslie got her breakout role in 2018, when she was cast as the original Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, in a live action version of ‘Titans’, the series set in the DC Universe.

She was introduced in the titled eighth episode, and Leslie’s portrayal of the character immediately received critical acclaim. Chancellor Agard, Entertainment Weekly critic wrote that Leslie was a perfect choice for Donna and that she was his favorite actress on the show. Donna was a guest character during the first season of the series, but was promoted to the main cast during the second season in 2019 as she was one of the fan favorites. Her character would also return for the series’ third season.

Private life

In addition to her successful acting career, Leslie is also a prominent photographer. She shoots with analog 35mm film, as she dislikes digital methods.

As of 2020, there is no information about her relationship history or whether she is currently dating anyone. She is rumours until now her “Titans” castmate, Ryan Potter, who plays the character of Beast Boy, but as of today neither Potter nor Leslie have commented on the gossip. She is quite active on Instagram, with more than 360,000 followers, and also on Twitter, where she has almost 30,000 followers.
