Moon bake, known professionally as Moonbin, was a South Korean actor, dancer, singer and model who worked under the Fantagio label. He was a member of the Astroboy band and its sub-unit Moonbin & Sanha.

Career

Moonbin made his debut as a child model and ulzzang in 2004 with the help of his mother. His first known appearance was in TVXQ’s music video for “Balloons” in 2006, playing a bit of U-Know Yunho. He made his acting debut in the Korean drama Boys over Flowers in 2009, playing the younger version of Kim Bum’s character.

Moonbin has been a Fantagio intern since fifth grade, eventually becoming a full-fledged intern in his high school years. He participated in the company’s boy band initiative iTeen and was the second intern to receive the Fantagio iTeen Photo Test Cut. Fantagio stated on December 30, 2022 that Moonbin has chosen to continue his contract with the agency.

Dead

He was found dead on the evening of April 19, 2023 at his home in the Gangnam district of Seoul. His manager tracked him down when he failed to show up for rehearsals. He was 25. According to a statement from the Seoul Gangnam Police, which is investigating the deceased, “it appears he committed suicide.” We are currently investigating the possibility of performing an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.” On April 20, Gangnam Police informed CNN that “no signs of foul play have been found in connection with this case”.

He was supposed to play at the Dream Concert in Busan with fellow Astro member Sanha just a day before his death as part of their duet Moonbin & Sanha. As of April 20, the organizers had not issued a statement following his death.
