The monsters are the meat of every Monster Hunter game, so here are all the new monsters you’ll find in Sunbreak.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak has been out for a while and most players still have a long way to go to see everything the DLC has to offer. There are all kinds of new rare items, like the Large Armored Bream, but the most important thing in a Monster Hunter DLC is, unsurprisingly, the monsters. Fortunately, Sunbreak is far from stingy in this department.
Sunbreak adds a slew of new monsters and remixes some of the old ones, giving them terrifying new abilities and loot. So that you can get a foothold and know how far along the DLC’s track you are, we’ve compiled a full list of every new monster added in the Sunbreak DLC.
MHR Sunbreak – Rank 1 Monsters
If you like giant crabs then Sunbreak has not one, but two in store for you, the first being the Daimyo Hermituar.
MHR Sunbreak – Rank 2 Monsters
This is a monster you know from Rise, except it now deals fire damage and fires explosive projectiles.
MHR Sunbreak – Rank 3 Monsters
-
garangolm
-
Aurora Somnacanth
A creature so heavily armored that it looks like something from Shadow of the Colossus, the Garangolm needs some heavy weaponry. The Aurora Somnacanth is another remixed Rise monster.
MHR Sunbreak – Rank 4 Monsters
-
Lunagaron
-
Shogun Ceanataur
-
astalos
-
Ser regions
-
Magma Almudron
-
Gore Magala
-
Espinas
-
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki
The majority of the new monsters hid behind Rank 4, as this is where the DLC opens properly. You will face six new monsters and two remixed monsters here.
MHR Sunbreak – Rank 5 Monsters
The high Mastery ranks bring with them some very tough monsters. Malzeno is the cover star for Sunbreak, so expect a brutal fight, and Shagaru Magala will give you a bit of a challenge too.
MHR Sunbreak – Rank 6 Monsters
-
gaismagorm
-
Dear Magnamalo
The Giasmagorm is the big boss creature that all your efforts in Sunbreak are headed towards, and if you want an extra challenge, grab a remixed version of Rise’s flagship monster.
MHR Sunbreak – Unreleased Monsters
-
Lucent Nargacuga
-
Seeing Baselgeuse
A free title update is on the way in August 2022 that will bring these two remixed monsters into the world, so make sure you’ve gathered enough other monster materials so you’re prepared for their arrival.
