Who is Mikey Day?
Mike Day is an American comedian, actor, writer and producer, who is probably best known to the world for his work on the hit comedy sketch show “Saturday Night Live” (SNL). Mikey joined the cast in 2016 and since then has not only appeared on screen, but has also written numerous skits, which have made him popular. In addition, Mikey has appeared in several films and voiced characters in the popular animated series “Robot Chicken”.

Michael William Day was born on March 20, 1980 in Orange County, California, USA. He attended Panorama Elementary School and then El Modena High School in Orange.

While in high school, Mikey began to show his interest in theater and drama, and he joined the drama program and associated student body. He would also write comedy skits for monthly meetings. After graduating from high school, Mikey enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), graduating with a bachelor’s degree in theater.
Career start
After graduating, Mikey joined the improv group Groundlings, based in Los Angeles. His first on-screen appearance was in the TV comedy “The Mike & Ben Show” in 1999.
Six years later, Mikey joined the cast of the popular comedy series “Wild ‘N Out”, and from 2005 to 2016, he appeared in 90 episodes of the hit show. This made him popular in Hollywood and enabled him to pursue other opportunities. As a member of the Groundlings, Mikey worked on the parody film of popular illusionist David Blaine, in which Mikey co-starred with Mitch Silpa. The short film and video was uploaded to YouTube and was once one of the most viewed videos on the site. Due to its popularity, he and the rest of the crew started working on the sequel, and “David Blaine Street Magic Part 2” and “David Blaine Street Magic Part 3” were released in 2007.

He continued to improve his career, first playing Craig Baker in the TV series “Kath & Kim” (2008-2009), and then becoming the correspondent of “The Jay Leno Show” (2009-2010); when Leno became the host of the “Tonight Show”, he moved with him and served as a correspondent until 2013. He was then recruited by “SNL”, first as a writer, but then for the featured player, starting in 2016.

Since his first on-screen appearance in “SNL”, Mikey has become a celebrity in Hollywood. He has appeared in over 80 sketches and portrayed such celebrities as Donald Trump Jr., Franklin D. Roosevelt, Roy Moore, Prince Harry, Matt Duffer and many others.
In addition, some of his most popular recurring characters on “SNL” are Greg Duncan and Mort Fellner, who is a supercentenarian. Since joining “SNL”, Mikey has worked on several other projects, including the films “Brother Nature” (2016), “Brittany Runs a Marathon” (2019), and is now working on the “Home Alone Reboot”, which is scheduled for release in late 2020, as well as on the “Hubie Halloween” movie, which is currently in post-production.

Mikey is a talented writer and has worked on several projects in Hollywood.
He started with that parody short film ‘David Blaine’ and then worked as a staff writer for the TV series ‘The Underground’. He teamed up with Nick Cannon on numerous projects, including “Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz”, and then on the show “Incredible Crew” (2012-2013). From 2013 to 2016, he worked as a writer on “SNL”, before being selected as an actor, and has since written the movie “Brother Nature”, and then the script for “The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards” in 2018. He is also the writer of “Home Alone Reboot”, and is working on the movie “Inspector Gadget”, which is currently in pre-production.
Mikey is also a voice actor and made his debut in 2010 by lending his voice to various characters in the animated comedy series “Mad”, through 2013. Meanwhile, in 2012, he appeared in the short film “Terminator: termination‘, in which he played John Connor and was the voice of Jerry. In 2014 he joined “Robot Chicken”, and until 2019 he voiced characters like RoboCop, Shredder, Raphael, among others.
