Early life and childhood
Luke was born on September 28, 1978 in Elmira, Ontario, Canada, so under the influence of the sun sign Libra. His parents are M. Darrol Bryant and Susan Hodges Bryant – his father was born in North Dakota and his mother also in the US; they moved to Canada while Lucas was pregnant.
Education
Bryant attended Elmira District Secondary School and High School Entrance Exam. He further enrolled at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, studying theater and acting.
Career
In high school, Lucas starred in several school theater productions and at the Sears Ontario Drama Festival. He has his first part in “Queer as Folk” as a college student in 2002, and was the lead in the UPN series “Sex, Love & Secrets” in 2005. The same year, he appeared in “More Sex and the Single Mom”, and guest starred in “Odyssey 5”.
In the following years he was seen in several Canadian projects such as “Crazy Canucks”, “The Eleventh Hour” and “An American in Canada”.
Bryant starred as Calvin Puddie in the 2006 movie ‘Playing House’ based on the book by Patricia Pearson. He also played Brad in the musical “I Hate Musicals”. He performed in “The Vow” and “A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride”. In 2010, he starred in the suspense-thriller TV series “Perfect Plan”.

In 2010, Lucas landed the lead role in ‘Haven’, based on a novel by Stephen King called ‘The Colorado Kid’. He played the character Nathan Wuornos, a local cop opposite star Emily Rose. In 2011, he was ranked number 72 on the list of ‘TV’s Sexiest Men of 2011’ by Buddy TV.
In 2012, he starred in the movie “Merry In-Laws” as Peter, a teacher engaged to an astronomer. The film was directed by Leslie Hope, who had previously worked with Lucas in “A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride”.

Trying his way to get the part for “Haven”, he sent everyone a bag of bars called Coffee Chips. He directed an episode of “Haven” titled “Enter Sandman” in the last season.
