At the Liella! What A Wonderful Dream concert that took place on the 13th, it was announced that the second season of Love Live! superstar!! will air from July this year, airing on both NHK and E Television.

Other announcements made during the concert include another concert tour series for the What A Wonderful Dream series set to take place at Osaka-Jo Hall on June 4.

You can watch the announcement video for both shown during the concert below:

What do we know about Love Live! superstar!! Season 2 so far?

The first announcement of the second season was made on October 24 last year, about a month after the end of the first season. The trailer spoke of continuing the series as the “story we brought to life” to “help everyone into the new starry sky!” The trailer also featured new Yuigaoka High School backgrounds and new versions of the stages featured in the series.

Aside from the new backgrounds, not much has been revealed about the upcoming season’s plot yet. But when you consider how far Liella! came to fulfill their idol dreams of bringing new students to Yuigaoka, it is believed that they will follow in the footsteps of all previous seasons of Love Live! and take on the competition (the Love Live!) next season.

The cover of Snow Halation at the end of Season 1 of Superstar!!, the namesake of Season 2 of School Idol Project, and the song representing their journey to win the Love Live may serve as a harbinger for this upcoming event.

You can watch the aforementioned trailer here:

Will the series be dubbed?

Unlike all other seasons of Love Live! Released to date, there is currently no English dub available on Funimation. Even Nijigasaki, which currently only has one season (although there is one coming up next month!), has an English dub available. While it’s possible that the Crunchyroll/Funimation merger affected anime dubbing production, it’s more likely that the second season announcement was right after the first season of Superstar!! caused them to delay dubbing the series.

Given the track record of dubbing for the Love Live! series, it is more than likely that Superstar!! will have a dub, but it’s not fully confirmed – we’ll keep you posted on that!
