Rachel Lindsay Rene Bush was born in Hollywood, California, USA, on May 25, 1970 – her zodiac sign is Gemini and she is an American national. Rachel is a former child actress, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Carrie Ingalis in the Western historical drama series “Little House on the Prairie,” which aired from 1974 to 1983, and starred Melissa Gilbert, Michael Landon, and Karie Grassle. It follows the Ingalis family who lived in the American Midwest during the 19th century. The series was a hit, as it won 17 awards and was nominated for 42 others, including three Golden Globes.

Youth and education

Lindsay grew up in Los Angeles alongside her identical twin sister Sidney Robyn Bush – Lindsay is older by three minutes – and the two appeared together in almost all of their movies and TV series. The girls also have a brother named Clay, an actor perhaps best known for his roles in “Little House on the Prairie,” “Critters,” and “Elvis and Me.” The three children were raised by their mother Carole Kay Bush. who was a housewife, and their father Billy Bush, who was an actor perhaps best known for his appearances in such films as “Five Easy Pieces”, “Tom Horn” and “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”.

Lindsay began her acting career when she was three, and she began taking acting classes while attending grade school.

Her next role came six years later playing Carrie Ingalis in the family drama film “Little House Years” which was both written, directed and starred by Michael Landon, along with Karen Grassle and Melissa Gilbert. The plot follows the Ingalis family as they gather during the Thanksgiving holiday.

In 1983, Lindsay appeared as Butterfly in the eponymous episode of the crime mystery drama series “Matt Houston”starring Lee Horsley and Pamela Hensley and which is about a wealthy Texan who moves to California to work as a private investigator.

The series was nominated for three awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Film Editing for a Series. In the following year, Lindsay starred in the family short film “A Shortstop Away”, directed by Elisabeth White, written by Tara Langton, and also played Cuyle Carvin.

In 1991, Lindsay played Carrie Ingalis in the biographical documentary “Michael Landon: Memories with Laughter and Love” directed by Michael Landon Jr. and starring Melissa Gilbert and David Canary.

Lindsay then took a 16-year hiatus—not unusual for child actors—before appearing on TV again in an episode of the talk show “Weekend Today” hosted by Dylan Dreyer; the show won a 2001 Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Electronic Camerawork.

She will meet Frank Dornan in 1999 when they were introduced by a mutual friend at a party and Frank accepted Lindsay’s daughter as his own and helped raise her. They married in 2001, but divorced several years later for unknown reasons.

Lindsay met Daniel Sanchez when she was a child when she was shooting for “Little House on the Prairie”, and they met again in 2012 and fell in love. The two exchanged their vows on July 5, 2014 – they have no children together as they currently live in Los Angeles where Daniel works as a businessman and runs his own small business.

Hobbies and other interests

Lindsay’s favorite season is winter as she can ski as well as snowboard while she also loves summer as she enjoys tanning her skin under the sun and swimming in the ocean. A huge animal lover, she volunteered numerous times at a local animal shelter during her teenage years and has had several pets over the years, her favorite animals being dogs and turtles.

She loves to travel and has been all over the US for both work and pleasure, while vacationing in Europe on several occasions, visiting England and Greece, among others.
