Los Lobos, a rock band, paid respect to Brehmer on Facebook by uploading a photo and expressing their thoughts on the former radio host, writing:

“There was no greater friend or supporter on the planet than you. When he got up and played maracas with us at his birthday party, his grin could have lit up Wrigley. Our brother, may you rest in peace.”

Radio station 93XRT also expressed their grief in a Facebook post, writing:

“It is with great sadness that we inform you that we have all lost our dear friend. Lin Brehmer fought cancer as long as he could. He passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by his wife and children. His XRT family will be remembering the amazing life of our best friend in the whole world tomorrow at 10am. We will be there for each other during this heartbreaking moment. Lin would appreciate it. “Don’t take anything for granted.”

He always called himself the best friend in the world, and his catchphrase “it’s great to be alive” was popular with his admirers and followers.
