Lily Nicksay was born in Los Angeles, California, USA, on January 8, 1988 – her zodiac sign is Capricorn and she is an American national. She’s an actress, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Morgan Matthews in the comedy drama series “Boy Meets World”, which aired from 1993 to 2000, and starring Ben Savage, Rider Strong and William Daniels. It follows a boy growing up alongside his two brothers who are testing his theories about being a teenager – the series was a success, as it won five awards and was nominated for 17 others.

Youth and education

Lily was raised as an only child in Los Angeles by her father, who is a businessman, and her mother, who is a theater actress. Lily became interested in acting thanks to her mother, who often took her to the local theater to watch plays together, and by the time Lily finished primary school, she had appeared in several plays performed there. She attended a local high school where she was a member of the school’s drama club, while also being physically active playing soccer and tennis. After taking her matriculation exam in 2006, Lily enrolled at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, eventually graduating with a Master of Arts degree in Latin and Ancient Greek in 2011.

Some of Lily’s last stage appearances were in the 1944 play “Harvey” staged at Laguna Playhouse in 2019, William Shakespeare’s play “Measure for Measure” also staged at Ensemble Theater Company in 2019, and the romantic comedy play “Barefoot in the Park” at Laguna Playhouse in 2020.

In 2002, Lily was nominated for an Ovation Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play for “The Wild Duck,” while her next Ovation Award nomination for Best Production of a Play (Large Theatre) came in 2015 for “Last Train to Nibroc.”

In 2016, she won a Santa Barbara Independent Indy Award for Best Performance for “See Rock City”, before being nominated for a Stage Raw Award for Leading Female Performance in 2017 for “A Singular They”.

Lily met Dave Gibson, a Scottish singer and writer, while attending university, and after more than six years of dating, the two married in a small ceremony attended by their close friends and family on August 16, 2015.
