Career
From 1976 to 1979, Kaity Tong worked as a reporter for KPIX-TV in San Francisco. In December 1979, she was named co-anchor of newscasts on KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California. In 1981, she joined WABC-TV in New York City. Within two years, she was promoted to co-anchor, working alongside Tom Snyder and Ernie Anastos. She has also worked as a newsreader for television series and movies such as Spider-Man, City Hall, Marci X and Night Falls on Manhattan.
She became the station’s main female anchor in 1992. Surprisingly, she is still employed by the station. She was the first woman to be honored by Rotary International and the New York Women’s Agenda with Star Award. She also received the Distinguished Woman award from the Sino-American Planning Council.
