Johnny Irwin, a well-known television personality, recently revealed his terminal cancer diagnosis and claimed that he hoped it would motivate others to make the most of every day. Irwin said he had lung cancer that had gone to his brain and he didn’t know how much time he had left. When Irwin’s eyesight became blurry while driving while shooting A Place in the Sun in Italy in August 2020, he was made aware of the situation. In an interview with Hello Magazine, he said that after returning from filming, he had six months to live. He continued and said:
“I had to go home and tell my wife, who was taking care of our kids, that she was pretty much on her own.” That was catastrophic. I couldn’t resist apologizing to her. I felt very guilty.”
When Jonnie Irwin went missing in A Place in the Sun, speculation about his health began to grow and he appeared visibly different when he returned this summer. He described himself as having a nasty secret on his back, like a monkey. He continued and said:
“I hope that by shaking off that monkey, I can encourage others who suffer from life-limiting conditions to make the most of every day, to show them that you can have a good life even when you die.” This will catch up with me one day, but I am doing everything I can to postpone that day as long as possible.”
Irwin expressed his gratitude to his wife and children, stating that while people like him have bucket lists, they prefer to spend most of their time with their families. He will continue to work with the goal of surviving cancer instead of dying from it. Irwin wants to make more memories with his family so that his children will remember their father. He even encouraged people to get life insurance and said he is stress free as his wife and kids will be living in a fully paid off house and some money will be saved in the bank for them.
All about Jonnie Irwin’s wife

Jonnie and Jessica have three children: Rex, Rafa and Cormac. Rafa and Cormac were born in June 2020, while Rex was born in December 2018. Irwin shared a photo of himself and Jessica rocking the twins on social media to mark their birth. He explained:
“They’re finally here!” After a rough day at the hospital, the boys finally decided to show up. They share every physical feature, including a sizable 5lb 7lb each, but no names have been assigned.
He continued and said:
“Jess was fantastic as always.” I’m pretty proud of her because she’s been lugging around something that looked like a globe for the past two weeks. I would also like to thank the excellent staff at The RVI in Newcastle.”
