The more my white hair grows, the less I want to take and show pictures of myself. 👻 But I wanted to post a photo with this poem that took me 3 days to write and I didn’t want to rely on a photo from the past. So I channel a release from my grip on my vanity and insecurity, instead going with the flow, as I tried with this poem. 🤍 These couplets originated from thoughts about my white hair and my fight with a little spider to stop weaving its web on my balcony. The web made me flutter and curse every time I walked out onto my balcony in the dark; it tickled my flesh and stuck to my hair. First I used a yardstick to break down the web. The same yardstick I used to knight Lavi since I always call him “young lord” (I used to call Roxi “young lady”). I don’t need quarantine to be so weird, so don’t blame me for that. 🤪 Anyway, after 3 days of the spider rebuilding her web – her home – I stopped destroying her existence. After all, the wind must have moved her in the night, and it reminded me that one day the wind will collect my ashes and move me too. 💀 This poem is not perfect, but I decided to post it anyway. I call that courage, not in the sense of facing fire or being in the line of fire, but in the sense of showing vulnerability. 🤍 Please don’t steal my poem. At least wait for me to solidify and polish it before you break my copyright laws. i joke. Never steal my writing, whatever its form. 👿 🕸 Thin threads Swaying in the wind Little spherical spider Spinning in the epicenter Little does she know Man’s tornado Soon to be ejected From the swing of a yardstick. 🕸 Thin threads Dangling from the flower pots Little orb spider On the way to safety Little man suspects The intellect of the spider Soon weaving Through the depths of her sorrow. 🕸 Thin threads reappearing Little spherical spider Dwelling in the dewdrops Little thinks either creature The plunder of nature Soon to join beyond the bounds of this earth. 🕸 ~ Jodi Leigh Miller 🕸 🕸 🕸 🤍 #mondaymotivation #poetry #writer #poetryofinstagram #fitover40 #murves #girlswithbiceps #womenwholift #dachshund #dogmom #grayhairdocare #converse #girlswithmuscle
