Peter Michael Bergman was born in the US naval base Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, on June 11, 1953, so his zodiac sign is Gemini and he is an American national – both his parents are American. He is an actor best known for his role in the long-running American TV series ‘The Young and the Restless’ in which he portrays Jack Abbott.

Early life and education

Peter was raised as an only child in Camp Springs, Maryland by his father Walter Bergman, who was serving as an officer in the United States Navy when Peter was born, and his mother Carlotta, who is a housewife. His parents later separated (not divorced) for unknown reasons, but got back together – Peter lived with his mother that year while his parents lived in different locations.

He attended Crossland Senior High School where he was physically active and excelled in football while also being interested in acting. He performed in most of the school plays while being encouraged by his professors to pursue an acting career.

Career as an actor

He began his acting career in 1979 when he auditioned to play Dr. Jeff Martin in the TV series “All My Children”, but was eventually chosen to star as Dr. Cliff Warner, who played him until 1987, and for his performance he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

He returned to the series in 1988 and 1989 – the most notable thing about his character was that he married the same girl, Nina, four times, while they divorced three times, and when the show ended they were still married.
