Imani was born on August 12, 1993 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She was raised by her father among her five brothers, but their identities have been kept secret and no record of her father or brothers can be found anywhere.
However, Imani praised her father for being a good father, stating that he had sacrificed a lot in his life to provide for his children. Nothing else is known about the upbringing of the actress, except that she wanted to become an actress for the first time at the age of seven.

While performing in the sitcom, she landed a few small roles on other television shows as well. In 2006, she played the role of Darcy in an episode of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, and in 2008 she did a voiceover role for the Disney animated series “The Replacements”, appearing in two episodes of the cartoon.
The following year, she appeared in three episodes of “ER”, and also had a supporting role in another Disney production – “Wizards of Waverly Place”.
The following year, Imani made her screen debut in the big movie “Reign Over Me” starring several big names including Adam Sandler, Liv Tyler and Jada Pinket-Smith.
In 2014, Imani played the title role in “The Gabby Douglas Story”, based on the life of a 13-year-old US Olympic gold medalist, earning Imani two Movieguide Awards, one for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries. .
In 2015, the young lady starred in the big movie “Chocolate City” with Vivica Fox, and in 2017 reprized the role for the sequel “Chocolate City: Vegas Strip”. The following year, she landed a role in the sci-fi comedy sequel ‘Sharknado: The 4th Awakens’.
The year 2017 had been a busy time for the young actress. Although she was on the set of “Chocolate City: Vegas Strip”, Imani found time to play two more roles, in “Sollers Point” and “Burning Sands”, and in 2018 she was seen in two more productions, the television movie “Down With Anything” and the psychological horror movie “Cam”.
