A competitor’s slide is your chance to shine as a founder

‘We don’t have that competitors,” say some founders. Or they downplay the threat to their competition, thinking that talking about competition will ruin the magic spell they’re trying to cast on investors. But talking about competition won’t ruin the magic you’re trying to cast. After all, no one thinks you start a business in a vacuum.

There’s no such thing as a startup without competitors, but you need to know how to talk about it, including how to exist alongside the competition. Until, of course, you wipe them off the face of the earth with your genius.
