How to check how long you’ve been playing Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has officially been out for 10 days, which means it’s now possible to see how many hours you’ve spent Torture Koroks explore the vast lands of Hyrule by checking your account profile on your Switch. Weirdly, you won’t be able to see this number on your Switch until 10 days after you start playing a game – it’s a weird limitation that applies to the Switch since launch.
Here’s how to check your profile on your Switch to see how many hours you’ve played the game. (It also shows you how long you’ve been playing other games.)
You can view a more detailed activity log if you have registered your Switch with the Nintendo Switch parental control app. Unfortunately, it seems that the app only captures game time after you register your Switch, so if you haven’t already set that up, the play time listed in the app isn’t as accurate as what you can get from your Switch. I just registered my Switch with the app as I was writing this article, and although my Switch says I have 40 hours on Tears of the Kingdom, only 15 minutes of playtime show up in my “Time Played” log in the parental control app: five minutes Tears of the Kingdom and 10 minutes of “other”, including time in the start menu.
Let me know how much in the comments Tears of the Kingdom you have played so far. I’m curious! The game is really good.
