Early life and education

XQc grew up in Laval alongside his brother Nicolas – their parents divorced when xQc was just one year old, after which the boys spent as much time with their mother as with their father.

Denial was unable to pay his players, and as xQc has stated, they each owed them $2,800 when the team broke up. The boys then formed their own team and called themselves YIKES! before changing it to Arc.6 – they qualified to participate in season zero of Overwatch Contenders, but lost during the group stage. Their last tournament together was the Beat Invitational: Season 2, in which they finished in third place.

On October 28, 2017, it was announced that xQc would be joining Dallas Fuel as their ninth player, and played several games before it was revealed that he had made homophobic comments to Austin ‘Muma’ Wilmot, a rival who plays for the Houston Outlaws, during one of his Twitch streams, and was thus fined $2,000 and suspended for several matches.

XQc is a huge animal lover, with dogs being his favorites – he has a dog and a cat that can be seen in some of his Instagram photos.
