Frankie grew up in Wyckoff alongside his three older brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick by their parents who are of very mixed European, French Canadian and American Cherokee. Their father Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. was a musician and an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God Church, while their mother Denise Marie was a singer and sign language teacher. All three of Frankie’s brothers are actors and musicianswho is best known for starting the band The Jonas Brothers, and because Frankie is not a member of the band, he is often referred to as ‘The Bonus Jonas’.
Frankie became interested in acting at a very young age, being motivated by his parents and brothers, and so he joined his elementary school’s drama club at the age of seven – he actually started his acting career when he was nine. He was interested in sports when he entered high school as he played football as well as football, and after his matriculation in 2018, he decided not to pursue a college education but to focus on his career as an actor.

Career as an actor
Frankie’s aforementioned debut was in 2008, when he was invited to voice Sosuke, one of the two main characters in the English version of the Japanese animated film “Ponyo”, made by Studio Ghibli – the film is both written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and the English version starred Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon and Liam Neeson. Frankie also performed the song “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” in the film, which follows a five-year-old boy who meets Ponyo, a goldfish princess who becomes human after developing feelings for Sosuke – it won 12 awards and was nominated for 20 others .
In 2009, Frankie made an uncredited appearance portraying The Child in Museum in the critically acclaimed adventure comedy film “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. In 2010, he played Junior Rocker Trevor the musical comedy film “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam”, starring Demi Lovato, Joe and Nick Jonas. In 2011, Frankie voiced Pip in the family fantasy film “Spooky Buddies”, and three of his most recent roles were in the 2012 animated family musical film “The Reef 2: High Tide” in which he voiced Junior, the episodes “Coat Rack Cowboy ‘ and ‘Pumpkinhead’ from the action-adventure series ‘RL Stine’s The Haunting Hour’ in 2013, and the family movie ‘Gutsy Frog’ in which he played the role of Frankie in 2013.
