Thulin finds police surveillance equipment and images of the crime scenes committed by the Chestnut Man in the ranch. Meanwhile, Simon Genz confessed to Thulin that he is the Chestnut Man. Together with several German newspapers, the authorities discovered a photo of Astrid, Genz’s twin brother, which shows that Simon is still watching her and that she is somewhere in Germany.

Genz stopped Rosa and held her hand in response to Rosa’s request for information about her kidnapped daughter. Hess finds the chestnut farm in another area and rushes to find Genz. However, Genz hits him on the head with a wrench when he gets there. Although Thulin managed to escape the burning house, he was quickly rounded up and thrown into Genz’s car. Hess helped Rosa escape, and the two did so through a basement window.

Hess approached Genz and tried to run over him. A branch impales the Chestnut Man as Thulin takes the wheel and the car crashes into a tree. While Kristine is with Astrid, the agents travel to Germany. She was taken into custody, Kristine went back home, and Thulin and her daughter are reunited.
